Finding and Keeping Members and Clubs
I have been elected your next Lt Governor Marketing for District 55 beginning July 1, 2007. There are two main goals of the LGM – finding and keeping members AND finding and keeping new clubs. Retaining members is my number one priority. I believe that, if our current members are happy, they are the best marketing program that we can have. Since I myself am a “happy camper” with my clubs, I continually talk about Toastmasters to anyone and everyone in which I come into contact. If we can spread the “happiness factor” to all of our current members, then they, in turn, will keep spreading the word about Toastmasters to all of their contacts, and on and on!
I also believe that regular communication from District leadership is essential. As LGM, I will work with other District leaders to provide tips, guidance, encouragement and news that a Toastmaster needs. I have lots of ideas to share with the club officers to make meetings fun and interesting. A well informed and educated member makes a happy member.
I want to encourage “Banner Raids” during this year to cross-pollinate clubs. Click here for the Rules and Procedures. Who will be the first club to “raid”?
A fun variety of methods will be used to reach Toastmasters throughout the District and encourage them to spread the Toastmasters’ word. You never know when a contact might turn into a new member or even a new club!
I have amassed Membership Motivators for the entire District (well, almost). I have Motivators for Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. If you know of someone that would like to join our Membership Motivation team, let me know. Click here to see what a Membership Motivator does.
I have instituted a membership campaign for every single month (excluding December). Click here to see what exciting “prizes” you can win throughout the year. Start off with a bang with the Independence Award for the month of July!
Finding and keeping new clubs is sometimes a struggle… but it doesn’t have to be. There are plenty of opportunities to create new club leads throughout the District. The challenge is turning those leads into strong and effective clubs filled with new Toastmasters. The most important thing we can do is show a group of potential Toastmasters the outstanding benefits of the Toastmaster program. Effective club-building requires dynamic teams willing to take the program throughout the District.
I have also amassed Marketing Motivators for the entire District (well, almost again). I have Motivators for Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. If you know of someone that would like to join our Marketing Motivation team, let me know. Click here to see what a Marketing Motivator does.
I am working to recruit and retain the best club-building teams to ensure District success and to provide opportunities for these Toastmasters to share what they love about the program… THE MEMBERS GROW AND OUR CLUBS GROW!
